Quizmasters Charlie Jacobi and Gary Stellpflug bring decades of experience, knowledge, and plenty of humor to the game. Prizes await the top team!

All are welcome, and the event is free. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

History Happy Hour is an experiential, fun way to explore local history through trivia, tours, games, and other interactive experiences. The program is offered every other month from October through April, with the goal of supporting local establishments while engaging the community in our island’s history.

Gary Stellpflug served as Acadia National Park’s trails foreman for 38 years. Now retired, Gary continues to volunteer with the park, helping to build and maintain bridges, boardwalks, trail signs, and just about anything else the trails crew needs. He is the go-to resource for all things related to Acadia's history and infrastructure.

Charlie Jacobi retired from the National Park Service in 2017 after 36 years of service, 34 of them at Acadia National Park. In his early years at Acadia, he ran Blackwoods Campground, opened the Sand Beach Entrance Station, and worked in law enforcement, search and rescue, fire, and EMS. In his later career at Acadia, he served as a natural resource specialist focused on visitor use management, blending roles as a recreation ecologist, social scientist, park planner, and Leave No Trace educator. He was also the lead drummer for the 2008 Ridgerunner All-Star Steel Band.
