Spring is in the air on Mount Desert Island, and so are the birds. As warblers, raptors, and shorebirds make their way back to our island, MDI Historical Society and the Wendell Gilley Museum invite you to celebrate the season at History Happy Hour.

Are you a history hotshot, a novice know-it-all, or a bird buff? Join us at Atlantic Midtown for good eats and good times while letting your knowledge take flight at this free community event, playing four rounds of trivia inspired by Mount Desert Island's history, people, and events. Prizes await the top team.

This is the last History Happy Hour until October, so come close out the season with us! Join us at 5:30 p.m. on April 30, 2026, at Atlantic Midtown, 52 Cottage Street, Bar Harbor. All are welcome, and the event is free. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

History Happy Hour is a fun, interactive way to explore local history through trivia, tours, games, and more. The program is offered every other month from October through April, with the goal of supporting local establishments while engaging the community in our island's history.
